Obsidian Tips & Tricks
Graph View - Part 1
In Obsidian one of the great features is Graph View. You can turn it on by clicking on the graph view icon in the sidebar or you can use the default
hotkey that is Ctrl + G.
When you open graph view in the top left corner you can see the small gear. If you press on it, it’s going to open additional features for the Graph View. It will be separated into four groups: Filters, Groups, Displays, Forces.
If you unfold the Filters section you are gonna see:
Text Field
Tags
Attachments
Existing files only
Orphans
In the Text Field you can type specific search syntax, search options are:
path: match path of the file
file: match filename
tag: search for tags
line:() search keywords on the same line
section:() search keywords under the same heading
Tags slider with it you can turn it on to see the tags in the Graph View or you can disable it.
Attachments slider with it you can show or hide the Attachments in the Graph View.
Existing files only slider only show files that are created.
Orphans slider shows the notes that are not connected to any other note.
When you unfold the Groups section and there is a button for making a new group.
